Illo (Ilow), Baron Christian von, b. around 1585 in the Brandenburg March (Germany), d. Eger castle (Czech Republic, assassinated), Feb. 25, 1634, general. In 1623 contributed considerably to Tilly's victory at the battle of Stadtlohn, tried to persuade Wallenstein to desert the Emperor, initiated the first pledge of Wallenstein's officers to their leader Pilsner Schluss, was assassinated in connection with the conspiracy against Wallenstein.
