Illyrer#
Illyrians, collective name given by the Greeks and Romans to several tribes who lived between the Adriatic, Morava, Albania and the Sava river. The Indo-Germanic language of the Illyrians died out in Antiquity and persists only in the names of persons and locations. Formerly, scholars believed that the Illyrians were representatives of the eastern area of the Iron Age civilisation known as Hallstatt Culture.
