Ischgl#
Ischgl, Tirol, municipality in the district of Landeck, alt. 1,376 m, pop. 1,280, area 103.43 km2, winter sports centre (1,019.851 overnight stays, "Silvretta-Skiarena") and principal village in the Paznaun Valley. - District Surveyor's Office, customs post, Silvrettabahn and Fimbabahn funicular railways up Idalpe mountain (2,308 m), gondola ropeway up Pardatscher Grat mountain (2,618 m); wood processing industry. - Baroque parish church (1755-1757) with late Gothic tower, Baroque church in Mathon (1674-1682), 1881 altered in neo-Romanesque style; chapels in and around Ischgl (17th -18th centuries), Calvary with crucifixion group (1763).
