Jüngling vom Magdalensberg#
Juengling vom Magdalensberg (youth of Magdalensberg), life-sized bronze statue in the classical collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, until 1986 believed to be the Roman original found in 1502 at Magdalensberg (formerly Helenenberg) in Carinthia, with a dedication - according to the inscription on the right thigh - by two released prisoners of the first century B.C. However, according to information first published in 1986, the Vienna statue is actually a copy made during the Renaissance; the original was probably transported to Spain in the 16th century and was lost.
