Jaksch-Wartenhorst, August, Ritter* von, b. Prague (Czech Republic), Jan. 2, 1859, d. Klagenfurt (Carinthia), Jan. 3, 1932, historian of the province of Carinthia, official archivist of Carinthia (1898) and first head of the provincial archives (1904 and 1921-1922). Founder of modern historical research of Carinthia, editor of the historical magazine "Carinthia I" (1898-1912), numismatist and curator of monuments. Contributed decisively to the establishment of the museum "Rudolfinum", now the museum of the province of Carinthia.
