Jeunesses Musicales#
Jeunesse Musicale (Musikalische Jugend Oesterreich), organisation of young persons (up to age 26) established in Vienna in 1948 to promote concerts; member of the Federation Internationale des Jeunesses Musicales. In addition to headquarters in Vienna, Jeunesse Musicale has 3 branch offices in Eisenstadt (Burgenland), Linz (Upper Austria), and Klagenfurt (Carinthia), and 18 further offices in Austria, organises concert series in co-operation with major Austrian concert societies (about 350 concerts per year), maintains musical ensembles (Jeunesse Choir, Jeunesse Orchestra in Vienna and Linz), and holds music courses for children and young people. A number of musical ensembles grew out of Jeunesse Musicale (e.g. Wiener Solisten).
