Justizpalast#

Justizpalast (Palace of Justice), 1st district of Vienna, built 1875-1881, seat of the Federal Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Court, (Oberster Gerichtshof, called "Kassationshof" until 1918) and other court authorities. On July 15, 1927, during the July Revolt, the Justizpalast was set on fire by the frenzied crowds. Afterwards it was rebuilt, one story higher. In 1945-1955 it was the Inter-Allied headquarters in Vienna.
