Kaiser, Friedrich#
Kaiser, Friedrich, b. Biberach (Germany), April 3, 1814, d. Vienna, Nov. 6, 1874, dramatist and actor. Wrote about 150 plays (comedies, farces, popular plays) mostly for the Theater an der Wien and the Carltheater. The plays of K. and of J. Nestroy dominated in the middle of the 19th century the repertory of the Viennese suburban theatres. K. is regarded as the forerunner of L. Anzengruber.
