Kalvarienberg#
Calvary, a place of Catholic devotion on a hill or mountain with 14 Way of the Cross stations, often also with a chapel or a pilgrimage church. The first calvaries developed shortly after the Crusades. Most of them date back to the Baroque age and many have been built on artificially erected hills like the calvaries in Maria Lanzendorf, Eisenstadt, Frauenkirchen and Graz.
