Kalwang#
Kalwang, Styria, market town in the district of Leoben, alt. 755 m, pop.1,292, area 67.10 km2, situated in the Liesing valley at the mouth of the Teichenbach stream, lying to the southeast of the Schoberpass mountain. Accident hospital run by the general accident insurance agency, stadium, forestry and wood working; biggest forest plants nursery in central Europe, Kalwang motorway maintenance depot. Gothic /Baroque parish church (Baroque interior dating from 1706 to 1750); the church of St. Sebastian built at the end of the 15th century and altered around 1700 has Late Gothic and Baroque parts and a Rococo portal dating from 1776.
