Kapp, Gisbert#
Kapp, Gisbert, b. Mauer, Vienna, Sept. 2, 1852, d. Birmingham (United Kingdom), Aug. 10, 1922, electrical engineer. Moved to England in 1882, 1905-1921 professor at the university of Birmingham. Developed the fundamental elements for the calculation and the construction of dynamos and alternating-current generators, invented the phase converter (vibrator), which is named after him. Pioneer in the field of alternating-current engineering.
