At first worked for the Schrack electronics company; became managing director of Schrack Elektronik AG in 1990. 1993 managing director of Austria Telecommunications GmbH; 1994 managing director of Schrack Ericsson AG; 1996 Chairman of the Board of the Burgenlaendische Elektrizitaetswirtschafts-AG; 1998-2000 Chairman of the Board of Telekom Austria AG.
