Keeß, Stephan von#
Keess, Stephan von, b. Vienna, Oct. 31, 1774, d. Vienna, June 13, 1840, engineer. 1810 first commissioner of the Lower Austrian factory inspectorate, gained first-hand insights into the condition of the trades in Austrian. Head of the collection of technical apparatus started by Ferdinand I in 1819, which was incorporated into the collection of the polytechnical institute in 1842. Numerous inventions.
