Kern, Jakob#
Kern, Jakob,b. Breitensee near Wien, April 11, 1897, d. Vienna, Oct. 20, 1924, Premonstratensian monk. As an army officer was severely injured in World War I, joined the Order of Canons Regular of Premontre at Geras. Devoted himself to works of charity in spite of the suffering caused by his injuries, which ultimately resulted in his death. Beatified in 1998.
