Khevenhüller, Franz Christoph, Graf von Khevenhüller-Frankenburg#
Khevenhueller, Count Franz Christoph of K.-Frankenburg, b. Landskron (Carinthia), Feb. 21, 1588, d. Baden (Lower Austria), June 13, 1650, diplomat, historian. 1617-1631 envoy to Madrid, where he strengthened relations with the Spanish line of the House of Habsburg. Minister of Emperor Ferdinand II, 1631 Lord Steward to Maria Anna of Spain, the wife of Ferdinand III. In 1612/14 converted to Roman Catholicism, gained favour with Ferdinand II and became an important chronicler of his time.
