Kickboxen#
Kick-boxing, new combat sport developed from karate and tae kwon do, the object of which is to hit the opponent's body with the foot (kicking) or fist (boxing). There are several types of kick-boxing: full contact, semi-contact, and light contact. The Austrian kick-boxing association (Bundesfachverband fuer Kickboxen, OeBFK), established in 1976, comprises 68 clubs with a total of 3,762 members (as of 1993).
