Kinsky, Hochadelsgeschlecht#
Kinsky (originally Wchinsky), family of the higher nobility, originally from Bohemia. First mentioned in 1237, they were made counts in 1628, 1676, 1687 and imperial dukes in 1747. In 1784, they inherited Daun Palace, Freyung 4, in the first district of Vienna (built by J. L. v. Hildebrandt from 1713-1716), which remained in the family until 1987. Count Franz Ulrich Kinsky, Count Wilhelm Kinsky and Bertha von Suttner were members of the Kinsky family.
