Kirchbach, Carinthia, market town in the district of Hermagor, alt. 642 m, pop. 2,850, area 98.99 km2, summer resort (81,218 overnight stays) situated in the upper Gail Valley. - Small power station (KELAG) in the Kirchbach-Graben; Kirchbach produces parts for cooling devices and has some woodworking industry. - Parish church built in1508, Baroque alterations in 1718, with late Baroque ceiling frescoes and a Gothic baptismal font, altar pieces designed around 1700; cemetery portal with Gothic frescoes; Grafendorf parish church built in Romanesque and Gothic styles with Baroque additions, wall paintings from 1514; subsidiary church on Wieserberg hill, Romanesque building with frescoes (early 13th century); waterfall in the Kirchbach-Graben.
