Kleinepik#
Kleinepik (epic poetry), collective term for a variety of short rhymed narratives in Middle High German (for the most part from the late 13th century), which are difficult to assign to a particular literary genre, e.g. Fabel, Bîspel, Maere and Schwank. The most important representatives of Middle High German epic poetry in and around Austria were Stricker, Herrand von Wildonie and Wernher der Gartenaere.
