Klenner, Fritz#

Klenner, Fritz, b. Vienna, Aug. 13, 1906, d. Vienna, Dec. 29, 1997, bank clerk, journalist and politician (SPOe, Austrian Social Democratic Party). 1927-1945 employee at the Zentralsparkasse bank, 1934-1938 member of the management of the illegal Union of Free Employees, 1945-1955 press editor of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions (OeGB), 1956-1959 deputy secretary general of the OeGB, 1963-1972 Director General and 1972-1981 chairman of the board of directors of the Arbeiterbank or BAWAG, respectively. 1958-1961 member of the Nationalrat. Prominent co-author of the Vienna programme of the SPOe of 1958.
