Kollektivvertrag#
Collective Agreement, agreement governed by the Labour Constitution Act, concluded in writing between interest groups) representing management and labour (the latter represented in most cases by the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions - OeGB). Collective agreements regulate the mutual rights and duties of employers and employed persons originating from the working relationship. Provisions laid down in collective agreements cannot be abolished or limited by agreements and regulations at company level or employment contracts or by plant agreements; regulations not contained in the collective agreements but more favourable to the employed are usually acceptable. Collective agreements also hold for those employed who are not members of the representative body concluding the agreement ("effect on outsiders"). If, however, the employer is not a member of a party to the agreement, the collective agreement is not valid for his company. Every collective agreement has to be deposited with the Federal Ministry for Economy, Labour and Infrastructure, published in the gazette of the Wiener Zeitung and displayed in the company.
