Kolumban Columban der Jüngere, Heiliger#
b. Ireland, around 543, d. monastery of Bobbio (Italy), Nov. 23, 615; missionary and spiritual leader of Irish monks on the European mainland, author of the Regula Monachorum. From 610 lived near Bregenz for two years like Saint Gall, where he founded a church and a monastery; continued his journey to North Italy where he founded Bobbio Abbey in 613/14.
