Kops#

Kops Reservoir, Vorarlberg, reservoir in the municipality of Gaschurn in the area of the Zenisjoch mountain, alt. 1,809 m, storage capacity 42.9 million m3. The facilities of the Kops-Partenen stage run by the Illwerke AG, Vorarlberger, VIW (Kops reservoir, Kops power plant, Rifa power plant and Kleinvermunt pump station) were built from 1962-1969. At the time of its construction the dam (122 m high at its highest point, length of crest 400 m) was the largest retaining structure in Austria. The reservoir (41 million m3 in an average year) is fed from an area of 120 km2.
