Korntheuer, Friedrich Josef#

Korntheuer, Friedrich Josef, b. Vienna, Feb. 15, 1779, d. Vienna, June 28, 1829, actor, director, theatre manager. 1804-1808 at the Vienna Burgtheater, 1808-11 worked for E. Schikaneder in Bruenn (Brno), then again at the Vienna Burgtheater and at the Theater an der Wien; 1813-15 manager of the Bruenn theatre, then guest performances. 1819 director at the Theater an der Wien, 1821-1828 at the Theater in der Leopoldstadt (with F. Raimund und T. Krones; 1826 pinnacle of his success in the part of Old Age (Hohes Alter) in the première of Raimund´s play "Der Bauer als Millionaer". Wrote several comedies.
