Krimmler Ache#
Krimmler Ache River, province of Salzburg, southern tributary of the River Salzach (Oberpinzgau region). The Krimmler Ache rises from the Krimmler Kees glacier at the border with East Tirol, forms the famous Krimml Waterfalls in its lower course and flows into the Salzach River near Vorderkrimml. The road from the Krimml Basin to the Krimmler Ache Valley can be traced back to an old mule-track leading from Salzburg to South Tyrol. The main village in the area is Krimml, a well-known climatic health resort. Tourism in summer and winter. The Krimmler Ache Valley is situated near the Hohe Tauern National Park.
