Kruckenhauser, Stefan#

b. Munich (Germany), Nov. 4, 1905, d. Vienna, Oct. 1, 1988, skiing educationalist and photographer. 1934-1938 and 1946-1972 head of the sports college in St. Christoph am Arlberg; in charge of the state-run training scheme for ski instructors in Austria from 1945. His presentation and methodical explanation of leg technique ("wedeln") in the Austrian ski syllabus (1956, numerous editions, also in translation) made him an international authority on skiing instruction and technique. Successful films and illustrated books on skiing.
