Laske, Oskar#
Laske, Oskar, b. Chernovtsy (Ukraine), Jan. 8, 1874, d. Vienna, Nov. 30, 1951, painter and graphic artist. First architect in Vienna (pupil of O. Wagner); painted exotic landscapes and scenes, secular and religious historical scenes with a humorous, sceptical and often fairy-tale character and highly expressive colouring. Distinguished illustrator and stage designer.
