Lassee, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Gaenserndorf, alt. 148 m, pop. 1,980 (in 1981: 1,784), area 55.63 km2, agricultural town in the eastern part of the Marchfeld region. - Local Chamber of Agriculture, soil conservation station of the local Lower Austrian agricultural authority, sports grounds; haulage company, cereal and sugar beet growing. - First documentary mention in 1185; parish church (former fortified church) with Romanesque nucleus, extended in the 14th century, Baroqued from 1695 until 1698; Baroque parsonage.
