Laufberger, Ferdinand#
b. Bohosudov, Czech Republic (then Mariaschein), Feb. 16, 1829, d. Vienna, July 16, 1881, painter, graphic artist and illustrator. Pupil of C. Ruben in Prague, became popular esp. as a draftsman (and caricaturist), later specialized in genre painting and decorative, allegorical monumental painting. From 1868 taught at the Vienna School of Arts and Craft, teacher of G. Klimt.
