Lausitz#
Lausitz Region, Lusatia, landscape on both sides of the River Lausitzer Neisse (today partly in Germany and partly in Poland). Upper Lusatia (around Bautzen and Goerlitz) came under Bohemian administration in the14th century, Lower Lusatia (around Cottbus and Guben) became a margraviate in 1367 and was subject to the Bohemian crown. In 1526 Upper and Lower Lusatia became parts of the Habsburg Empire, in 1620 Lusatia was pledged to the electorate of Saxony and was definitely integrated into it in the Peace of Prague in 1635.
