Ledochowska, Ursula Taufname Julia Maria#
Ledóchowska, Ursula (baptized Julia Maria), b. Loosdorf (Lower Austria), April 17, 1865, d. Rome (Italy), May 29, 1939, founder of a congregation, sister of Countess Maria Theresia Ledóchowska. Educated in the Institute of English Ladies in St. Poelten; entered the Ursuline Convent in Kraków in 1886 (mother superior 1904-1907); headmistress of a boarding school in St. Petersburg, 1907-1910; founded schools and orphanages in Finland, Sweden and Denmark, and 1920 the order "Grey Ursulines" in Poland, of which she was mother superior. Her order spread throughout Europe, Canada and South America. (95 convents with 100 members in 1985). Beatified June 20, 1983 in Poznán, Poland (then Posen).
