Leicht, Wilhelm#
Leicht, Wilhelm, b. Vienna, Aug. 25, 1876, d. Vienna, April 18, 1946, actor, owner of a variety theatre, brother of Ferdinand L. (b. Vienna, May 17, 1870, d. Vienna, Dec. 25, 1922) played at the Kaiser-Jubilaeums-Stadttheater and at the Vienna Volkstheater, managed the L. variety theatre (founded in 1895) in the Prater, a park and fairground in Vienna, after his brother's death and worked there also as a compère; apart from entertainment programmes he also staged plays by e.g. J. W. von Goethe and F. Wedekind, in which actors like A. Bassermann, A. Moissi, A. Girardi and R. Aslan took part. 1945 the theatre was destroyed during a fire at the Prater.
