Lippert, Andreas#
b. Vienna, April 21, 1942, prehistorian; son of Georg Lippert; from 1976 to 1991 professor at the University of Innsbruck, since 1992 in the Department of Primeval and Ancient History of the University of Vienna, 1992-1996 head of the department. Research at Bronze Age and Iron Age sites in Iran, Tyrol, Salzburg and Lower Austria. Also studied issues of landscape archeology and primeval ore mining. Head of the excavations occasioned by the discovery of an ancient corpse ("Oetzi") in a glacier of the Oetztaler Alpen (1991/92).
