Machlup, Fritz#
Machlup, Fritz, b. Wiener Neustadt (Lower Austria), Dec. 15, 1902, d. Princeton (USA), Jan. 30, 1983, industrialist and economist. Studied at the University for World Trade (now University of Economics and Business Administration) and at the University of Vienna (political sciences); until 1935 managing director of and partner in paper processing companies, numerous publications on economics subjects. 1935 emigrated to the USA and worked as Professor of Economics at the University of Buffalo, at the John Hopkins University in Baltimore as well as at the Universities of Princeton and New York.
