Mandl, Fritz#

Mandl, Fritz, b. Vienna, Feb. 9, 1900, d. Vienna, Sept. 8, 1977, industrialist, from 1933-1937 first husband of H. Lamarr. Director-General of the cartridge manufacturing company "Hirtenberger Patronenfabrik" ( Hirtenberger AG) which also comprised the cartridge factory of Lichtenwoerth ("Lichtenwoerther Patronenfabrik") and the "Gruenbacher Steinkohlenbergbau" coal mining company. 1933 was involved in an arms scandal ("Hirtenberger Waffenaffaere"). In 1938 he had to hand over his companies to the Wilhelm-Gustloff Foundation; from 1938 to 1945 lived in Argentina.
