Mank#
Mank, Lower Austria, town in the district of Melk, alt. 295 m, pop. 2,684, area 33.32 km2, situated south-west of the town of St Poelten in the Lower Austrian parts of the Alpine foreland; near the River Mank. - District court, District Chamber of Agriculture, road works service. Economy: construction industry, dairy industry, textile industry, upholstered furniture industry, haulage industry. Town charter in 1987. - Late Gothic parish church (pilgrimage church) built with naves of equal height, was enlarged and richly ornamented in Baroque style around 1730.
