b. Vienna, June 8, 1942, civil servant and politician (Austrian People's Party, OeVP); son of Ernst Marboe and brother of Ernst Wolfram Marboe. Studied Law at the University of Vienna, 1967 to 1969 in the Culture Department of the Federal Press Agency, 1969/70 Secretary to Federal Chancellor J. Klaus, from 1970 onwards press attache in New York, 1975 to 1984 Director of the Austrian Press and Information Service in the USA and from 1984 onwards Director of the Austrian Culture Institute in New York. 1987 to 1991 under A. Mock acting manager of the Austrian People's Party, OeVP, 1991-1996 Head of the Cultural policy Department in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, 1996-2001 Town Councillor for Cultural Affairs in Vienna.
