Martinelli, Ludwig#

b. Linz (Upper Austria), Aug. 9, 1832, d. Bad Gleichenberg (Styria), June 13, 1913, actor, director, husband of Louise Martinelli. 1860 to 1864 actor and first director at the Grand Theâtre in Amsterdam, 1864 to 1873 at the Stadttheater in Graz (1871 breakthrough with L. Anzengruber´s "Der Pfarrer von Kirchfeld"). 1873 to 1876 member of the "Theater an der Wien", 1876 to 1885 of the Prague Federal Theatre, 1886 of the "Carltheater" in Vienna, 1889 to 1908 of the "Volkstheater" (outstanding performances in Anzengruber's plays).
