b. Vienna, Jan. 24, 1899, d. Vienna, July 26, 1973, diplomat, son of Franz Matsch senior. 1947 to 1953 consul-general in New York, 1955 Head of the Austrian Delegation to the Atomic Energy Commission in Geneva, 1956 to 1964 permanent Austrian representative with the UNO.
