Meister von Großgmain#
Meister von Grossgmain, painter; there is evidence that he worked in Salzburg 1483-1499. He is named after four panels in the parish church at Grossgmain near Salzburg (1499) depicting scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary. His work is closely related to the monumental style of R. Frueauf the Elder in whose workshop he was possibly apprenticed. He used to be wrongly identified as M. Kriechbaum. Other works ascribed to him are to be found in e.g. the Oesterreichische Galerie Belvedere in Vienna and at Klosterneuburg monastery.
