Milani, Johann Evangelist#

b. Ferrara (Italy), 1729, d. Vienna, April 12, 1808, owner of coffeehouses. Established the first coffeehouse in Vienna in 1770 at the corner of Kohlmarkt-Wallnerstrasse, which was soon known outside of Vienna and had its heyday between 1780-1790. He ran another coffeehouse, "Ochsenmuehle", taken over in 1808 by P. Corti, on the bastion in front of the old castle portal (Burgtor).
