b. Vienna, Oct. 21, 1845, d. Vienna, May 14, 1910, industrial magnate. Studied chemistry, ran the soda works founded by his father in Hrušov, Czech Republic (then Hruschau), later worked in the bank J. M. Miller & Co in Vienna; friend of J. Brahms, supported young artists, was an important coin collector.
