Mohn, Gottlob Samuel#
b. Dec. 4, 1789, d. Laxenburg (Lower Austria), Dec. 2, 1825, painter of porcelain and glass. Worked for his father Samuel M., took drawing lessons from J. Schnorr von Carolsfeld and at the Academy of Dresden. From 1811 in Vienna, where he established his own workshop for glass painting. Created together with A. Kothgasser the glass windows of Laxenburg Palace (1813); glass paintings in the churches Maria am Gestade (1820) and St. Ruprecht (1822) in Vienna. His hollow glasses with transparent enamel colours depicting landscape and town panoramas were particularly popular.
