Moser, Hans eigentlich Jean Julier#
b. Vienna, Aug. 6, 1880, d. Vienna, June 19, 1964, (film-)actor. Voice training under the court actor J. Moser (hence choice of stage-name). 1897 first engagement in Bohemia, from 1903 at the Theater in der Josefstadt. 1907 went with travelling theatres through the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, 1910 engagements in revues, musical shows and at theatres in Vienna. 1925 engaged by M. Reinhardt for the Theater in der Josefstadt, later also for the Salzburg Festival. Theatre work in Austria and Germany; from 1922 in films, through which he gained great popularity even after his death. Considered by critics to be one of the most important film comedians.
