Mozarteum-Orchester Salzburg#
Mozarteum-Orchester Salzburg, officially constituted in 1917, known under this name since 1908, first established by members of the Dommusikverein (founded in 1841) as an independent community of musicians. Since 1938 an independent institution of professional musicians and official orchestra of the province of Salzburg; its duties include most opera performances at the Landestheater Salzburg, most orchestral concerts in Salzburg, most serenades and concerts of church music at the Salzburg Festival, and since 1972 Mozart matinees and opera performances in Mozart Festival Week.
