Nature Parks in Austria, special areas in Austria that enjoy legal privileges on grands of their extraordinary flora and fauna or outstanding landscape:


Lower Austria: Blockheide/Eibenstein bei Gmuend ("Wobbling Stones", forms of weathered granite), Dobersberg/Thayatal (riverine meadow landscape in the Northern Waldviertel area; game preserve with fallow deer and wild boar, only fern trail in Austria, collection of minerals and insects in Dobersberg castle), oak grove near Klosterneuburg (fruit trail), pine-tree mountains (west of Moedling), Gamsstein Alpine footlands at Hollenstein/Ypps (Alpine foreland), Geras bei Horn (game preserve with wild boar, red deer and aurochs, Hohe Wand near Wiener Neustadt (roe deer, red deer, chamois, Alpine marmots, wood grouse and grey hen, moufflons, Alpine ibex (in reserve), Jauerling-Wachau (near Melk, mushroom and medicinal herbs museum), Laxenburg Castle gardens, turned into a historicist nature reserve under Emperor Franz II (formerly an English garden; rich in bird species), Leiser Berge mountains (Ernstbrunn wildlife reserve), Mannersdorf am Leithagebirge (wild boar, reed deer in reserve), Nordwald (typical Northern Weinviertel landscape), Oetscher-Tormaeuer (Alpine nature reserve, largest natural rapid-river area in Austria); roe deer, chamois, otter, golden eagle, black and hazel grouse, wood grouse), Sandstein-Wienerwald/Purkersdorf (trail, game reserve, touch paddock for children), Seebenstein-Tuerkensturz (recreational area with natural pond), Schwarzau im Gebirge (collection of alpine flowers, chamois preserve and golden eagles), Sierningtal-Siedling (small animal reserve), Sparbach (in the Vienna woods; fallow deer, wild boar, moufflons, pygmy donkeys).
