Neff, Dorothea#

b. Munich (Germany), Feb. 21, 1903, d. Vienna, July 27, 1986, actress. First worked at German theatres playing various typical roles; in later years became a character actress. At the Deutsches Volkstheater in Vienna from 1939, became an honorary member in 1978; guest performance at the Burgtheater, Vienna, in 1957, engagement at the Burgtheater 1973-1976 ( as Elisabeth in "Maria Stuart", also in Medea, Mutter Courage, etc); went blind in 1967 but continued to perform on stage and in films, in revues and in radio plays. Awarded the J. Kainz Medal in1963.
