Neumann-Spallart, Gottfried#
Neumann-Spallart, Gottfried, b. Vienna, March 29, 1915, d. Vienna, May 5, 1983, set and costume designer. 1950-1967 professor of set design at the School of Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna, 1955 organised the International Theatre Exhibition in Vienna, worked mainly in Vienna (particularly at the Theater in der Josefstadt), but also in the rest of Austria and abroad. His work was characterised by three-dimensional set design, a pictorial composition of colour and form and conventional productions. Numerous awards.
