Niederwaldkirchen, Upper Austria, municipality in the district of Rohrbach im Muehlkreis, alt. 525 m, pop. 1,754, area 28.18 km2, on the Pesenbach stream. Manufacturing of electronic parts, garage doors and bakery equipment. - Gothic parish church with Baroque alterations (first documented mention 1111), Romanesque core, remarkable tower with helm roof (1710, presumably by J. Prandtauer), high altar sculptures by L. Sattler (1722); secularized mediaeval crypt chapel of the Schallaberg family; Baroque parish house, Gothic lantern in the cemetery (15th century); column of the Virgin Mary (1781).
