Olympic Committee, Austrian (Oesterreichisches Olympisches Committee, OeOC) highest Austrian authority in all questions pertaining to the Olympic Games, established on June 19, 1935, dissolved after the Austrian "Anschluss" to Germany in 1938, re-established on December 12, 1946. Predecessor organisations included the "Central Association for Joint Sporting Interests" (Zentralverband fuer gemeinsame Sportinteressen) from 1908 and after World War I the "Austrian Federation for Physical Exercise" (Oesterreichischer Hauptverband fuer Koerpersport). In 1982 the Austrian Olympic Academy, a working group with the aim of promoting the Olympic spirit in Austria, was founded as a working group of the OeOC. L. Wallner has been president of the OeOC since 1990.
